Beyond Words - Collage Workshop
In this session, the Union Gallery is partnering up Zakary Georges “Twisted Wind” Gagné and Queer Collage Collectives. Exploring a sense of belonging through the lens of culture, in this season we will be inviting participants to individually reflect and collectively create collages that relate to one’s background. The concepts of identity, inclusivity, and privilege may all be expressed and discussed through this session.
Antiracisme et diversité dans la francophonie : enjeux et pistes de solutions
À l’occasion de la Semaine nationale de l’immigration francophone, qui se déroulera du 5 au 11 novembre 2023, et avec l’appui du gouvernement de l’Alberta, l’ACFA est heureuse d’inviter les Albertains et les Albertaines à un panel virtuel intitulé : Antiracisme et diversité dans la francophonie : enjeux et pistes de solutions.
Ce panel mettra de l’avant le point de vue de trois panélistes francophones sur les enjeux et pistes de solutions liés à la promotion de la diversité et à la lutte contre le racisme. Grâce à leurs témoignages, ces intervenantes viendront humaniser et apporter une lentille critique à ces enjeux, aidant ainsi à éduquer et sensibiliser la population à la richesse d’une communauté francophone inclusive et diversifiée. Ce panel est ouvert à tous et toutes, et une traduction simultanée, du français à l’anglais, sera disponible pour faciliter la participation de locuteurs anglophones.

We are so thrilled to welcome Elder Diane, Co-Creator of Cercle Indigiqueer Circle - Québec’s first regional 2Spirit organization. Diane will do a traditional opening, as well as share some teachings with our community on 2Spirit history, roles and resurgence.
The first floor of their space is fully accessible. Snacks and beverages provided! We are incredibly thankful for the Kingston Native Centre and Language Nest for making this initiative possible.

Breaking Up/Open
This workshop aims to be a collective reflection on breakups and relationship hardships. Through discussion and a writing exercise, participants will explore ways of practicing harm reduction through communication when they are directly or indirectly involved in a sticky interpersonal situation, and when intense waves of emotion might impact their abilities.
This workshop takes an Indigenized, intersectional, non-monogamous, queer and trans-affirming approach to navigating relationships of all kinds (sexual, platonic, romantic, friendship, etc.).

La Fédération des communautés francophones et acadienne (FCFA) du Canada et la Fondation dialogue soulignent la Journée nationale de la vérité et de la réconciliation, en t’invitant à une projection et une discussion en ligne sur le sujet, mardi 26septembre de 13h à 14h (HE).
Nous invitons le personnel et les bénévoles des organismes et institutions francophones partout au pays à un visionnement en ligne du film Hommage au sénateur Murray Sinclair, suivi d’une discussion Zoom animée par Zakary-Georges Gagné, leader communautaire crie. Les participants et participantes pourront échanger sur leurs impressions et ce qu’ils ont appris.
